Once we know what's wrong, our building designers create a customized retrofitting plan. Every building is different, so every solution is different.
A building designer at N Square Engineers looks at your building's age, the materials used when it was built, the type of foundation, the soil conditions, and what kind of stress the building faces daily.
We recently worked on a heritage property in Civil Lines. The owner wanted to preserve the original look while making it earthquake-resistant. Our building designer created a plan using hidden steel reinforcements and carbon fiber wraps that strengthened the structure without changing how it looked from outside. You can't even tell the work was done, but the building is now twice as strong.
• Column jacketing: Adding a layer of reinforced concrete or steel around weak columns
• Beam strengthening: Using steel plates or fiber wraps to increase load capacity
• Foundation underpinning: Strengthening or replacing damaged foundation sections
• Crack injection: Filling structural cracks with epoxy resin that bonds stronger than concrete
• Corrosion protection: Treating rusted rebar and protecting it from future damage
Our building designers choose the right technique based on your specific problem, budget, and how much disruption you can handle during work.
